about

long match
an artistic & creative laboratory
for collaborators & thought partners initiated by matthew glassman (former co-artistic director of double edge theatre).

the work
original performances, community collaboration, the un-nameable children’s project, consulting, & arts-driven movement building.

Long Match tends to community resiliency through the imagination in all its forms.

fire, in the form of a few embers that is stored up & carried over a long migration,
is called a ‘long match.’

upon arrival to a new campsite,
after a long journey,
it is used for convenience, to ignite a new fire.

but more importantly,
it represents the life of the home fire,
its songs, stories, and rituals.

the long match embers
provide spiritual & cultural continuity.
