Join our week-long April Vacation workshop exploring transformative practices through play, puppets and performance creation led by acclaimed artist Torri Lynn Ashford and guest artists.
The unnameable children’s project is excited to be hosting the return of renowned puppeteer and theater maker Torri Lynn Ashford. Children between the ages of 6-12 are invited to create puppets, masks, explore choreography, and develop characters in an imaginative workshop that culminates in an original performance, Across the Ninefold River. The children will have the opportunity to work with professional designers, builders and creators from around the country and the culminating creative work will be performances April 19th and 20th in locations around Ashfield Town Commons. We will cap enrollment at 12 participants so please reach out soon if you are interested. There will be options for children who want to join but can’t commit to the entire week.
Sliding Scale Fee: $200-$350 Full and partial scholarships available for any family who find this cost prohibitive.

Torri Lynn Ashford (she/her) has performed with local ensemble-based theaters including: A Host of People, The Hinterlands, Matrix Theatre, PuppetART Theater and CMAP to name a few. She has also been a teaching artist with Living Arts and Detroit Wolf Trap (2017-2019). She headed children’s puppet workshops and summer camps at PuppetART Theater (2012-2017). In 2017 she was awarded a New Leaders grant from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs for her work leading CMAP’s Community Outreach Initiatives for their Detroit commission and residency of the world-renowned Bread & Puppet Theater. At present Torri Lynn is a resident company member and puppeteer with Bread & Puppet Theater (Glover, VT).
